IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills) needs to be done in person. Typically, districts do a training session in the fall, and another in the spring, and it’s hard to fit into busy schedules So, here’s a heads-up on the IOLS training opportunities this fall.
Harford District will be doing their IOLS training October 24-26, with a required Orientation session on October 4th, all at Broadcreek. Download Outdoor Skills Training Fall 2014
Carroll District is doing theirs October 17-18, for more information contact Jim Morton at email@example.com
National Pike District training will be September 19-20, and you can get more information at http://www.baltimorebsa.org/event/1456900

The US Army Heritage and Education Center Camp Out will really be a great time and is coming up very quickly. Everyone needs to wear their full uniform because you can get into the Model show for free. So don’t just wear your class A shirt. If everyone has a full uniform please try to bring it so everyone can get into the event for free while showing others Troop 899 Scout Spirit. Please bring your compasses also we will be working on an orienteering course. We are also planning several group sports activities. This will be a great weekend while having fun, learning, and enjoying the fellowship with others. Don’t forget to get the permission slip in as soon as possible. Mr. David Bongiovanni will be at the troop meeting Thursday night to answer any questions you might have. This is also a chance to share with him your group sports activity you would like to play.
Yes we will need drivers.
If you are willing to drive please email me your name, cell phone number, email address, and your vehicle information (year, make, model, number of seats and if you have insurance in MD)!
Please feel free to email your permission slip to firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like. Thanks again, we are looking forward to this outing. Hope you are all looking forward to a great weekend, Mr. David and I sure are ready!
