Announcing God and Church Program Protestant Religious Emblem Opportunity
Troop 899 has the opportunity to join with Troop 124 partner with Pastor Karin Walker of Fallston United Methodist Church to offer the God and Church Program. This is the religious medal program for Middle-School Aged Scouts (Grades 6-8) of the Protestant Faith. The program will start in February and run into the Spring (6 meetings total). Here¹s a little information about the God and Church Programs Curriculum Goals:

* To strengthen young people¹s relationship with Christ
* To challenge young people to learn about and participate in the worship and ministry of the church
* To have young people make a plan for daily Bible reading and memorize a creed or statement of belief or passage of scripture
* To provide the opportunity for young people to experience the joy of serving others

General Description
The God and Church program will lead young people on a journey. It will be a faith journey with three parts: meeting Jesus, worshiping God, and witnessing and ministering for Christ. Participants will create either a video or a photo album to share what they have learned on their faith journeys. Young people will have the opportunity to work with their pastor or other Christian adult as they study the church’s structures and objectives and participate in service projects that will give them a better understanding of the mission of the church.

Additional information about the God and Church Program can be found here:
http://www.praypub.org/main_frameset.htm

Further information will be available as the program schedule is developed with the pastor. The first meeting is tentatively set for February 1, 2015 at 11:30am. A signup sheet will be posted at the next troop meeting. You can also sign up by emailing Sharon Gardner at sh1ar2on3@gmail.com . The cost of the program will be $25 per Scout, which will cover the cost of the student workbook, medal and certificate
