New York Camping Trip

Permission Slip with Details can be found on the troop website: http://troop899fallston.org/outings

There will be a camping trip to New York City December 4-6. This is a fun trip for adults (leaders, dads, moms) and youth alike, at a festive time of year.

There is a natural fear of the cold, of course. But I can say with confidence that the folks that do the trip can do it successfully if they are prepared. If we are lucky enough to get snow, that covers an element of Camping Merit Badge, too.

I do hope to see a nice number of attendees step up to the challenge and fun, enjoy a great time in Manhattan, and walk away with greater camping confidence. Deadline for sign ups is soon… November 19th.

Thank you,
Bruce Kinzinger

Wreath Delivery

Thank you for everyone who participated in this year’s wreath fundraiser. Wreaths should be delivered next week. Because we need to order wreaths by the case (5 per case) we have some leftover quantities. There will be 4 extra Victorian wreaths at $29 each, and 3 Classic wreaths at $24 each. Please let me know if you are interested in purchasing these, or in making a few extra sales. The LED lights and wreath hangers are no longer available.

Thank you,
Charlotte Brennan

Youth Protection Update

BSA now requires all adults chartering with the troop to have their Youth Protection up to date through the entire upcoming charter year. In other words, when we recharter this December, your YP cannot expired before December 2016. Rechartering will be happening soon, and most of the adults in our troop need to retake Youth Protection to follow these new rules.

To check your training, and update your YP, please go to my.scouting.org. This is a different address than before, but uses the same username and password that you had for myscouting. Here are directions from the website:

E-Learning training courses are now available to take online on my.Scouting Tools. Training courses can be found by selecting the Home button in the upper left corner, then My Dashboard in the menu list. It will default to the My Training section which was also enhanced providing 4 new tab selections:
YPT – displays the Youth Protection training courses available.
Training Center – displays the Scouting programs containing the training courses applicable to the specific program.
Requirements – displays training courses required to become position-trained for your current registered position(s).
Completions – displays training courses that were completed.

I still have some popcorn left!!! Popcorn for Sale!!! Help Help!!

I have 24 bags of the regular caramel popcorn that did not sell and we (the Troop) need to try to get rid of at $10.00 a bag.
I will have them with me at tonight’s Troop meeting for you to buy. You can pay by cash, check or credit card.

If we don’t sell this to everyone then the troop will take a loss of $$240.00 dollars. Please help your troop and buy some popcorn.

It can be a great stocking stuffer or Friday/Saturday snack. if everyone buys a bag it will be gone in no time. 🙂

Thanks for your attention in this matter.
