The 2016-17 calendar of outings and meetings has been created and approved, and will be made available soon on this website.
Troop 899 will be headed up to Ski Roundtop for a day of Skiing on Saturday February 7, 2015. Since this is a day trip only, there is no limit on the number of scouts, and or family members who wish to attend, however we will need drivers to transport scouts. We will depart at 7 AM from the FUMC upper lot, and arrive back at FUMC at approximately 9:30 on Saturday evening. There are 3 separate packages to choose from, and there is the option of purchasing meal plans for both lunch and dinner. The attached permission slip has the details on pricing. Contact me with any questions you may have: Dawn Fitzgerald (Skiing) 410-941-5278 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Troop 899 has been selected to attend the 53rd annual West Point Camporee on the grounds of the US Military Academy at West Point, NY. The camporee is scheduled for May 1-3, 2015.
If you are interested in attending please complete the attached permission slip and return to me ASAP as participation in this event is limited to the first 20 scouts and 5 adults. Deadline for permission slips is January 22 as the registration forms along with payment must be submitted NLT 31 January.
Because of the camporee requirements and since West Point is approximately a 4 hour drive from Fallston we will be required to depart Fallston no later than mid-morning on Friday May 1. If a scout is interested in attending this event will require that they miss school that Friday. Also the troop will be participating as a “Lightfighter” group as they did last year. This means that all gear, food and personal items will be hiked in and out of the camporee.
Additional information will be sent out in future email blasts and at troop meetings.
Stash Kinzinger is looking for some scouts to help him paint three bike racks for his Eagle project. Please contact him as soon as possible at Stanley.Kinzinger@gmail.com if you can help.
Time: 7:30 pm
Date: Thursday, 12/18
Place: Fallston United Methodist Church
If you want to take part in the gift exchange, please bring a wrapped gift between $5.00 and $15.00. Anyone who brings a gift will draw a number to determine the order of gift choosing
If you don’t want to participate in the gift exchange, don’t bring a gift.
See you all there!
Thank you Troop 899! Your generosity helped Scouts hold a successful Holiday Shop
at the Pack Meeting on Friday night. We heard that the Cub Scouts enjoyed shopping
and learning about High Adventure Camps. A special thank you to Lisa Murdock,
Jacob Murdock, and Wes Mackow for volunteering their time to answer questions and
talk about Philmont with the boys and parents!
If you took any pictures at any Troop functions this year, from summer camp to the present, I would greatly appreciate getting copies of them. You can either e-mail them to me at email@example.com, give me copies at a Troop meeting, or if you have access to the Troop Dropbox, you can post them there. Please label the pictures or let me know where they were taken. I would like to use the pictures for a slideshow and year-end book of Troop events.
Thank you very much.

The Philmont Crew is having a fundraiser and we would LOVE to help you clear out your clutter! Your clutter could be our treasure!!! Any donation is greatly appreciated!
What we need:
Donations! We are looking for gently used or new items that would be suitable for a child’s gift to Mom, Dad, and brothers/sisters of varying ages. Between Oct 30 and Dec 11, there will be a box for donations at the Troop meetings. You can also contact Vickie Bratcher at email@example.com directly to make other arrangements.
Please remember donations should be new or ‘gently’ used. Electronics should be in good working order. Toys, puzzles, etc should have all pieces. Some general categories we are in need of include:
- Dads (usually low donation rate)
- Toys & Games
- CD’s & DVDs
- Pets (usually low donation rate)
- Teens (usually low donation rate)
- Christmas items
