Post for 9/20

Due this Week

Request your blue cards from Ms. Manisha if you are going to the Merit Badge Weekend at Towson University.

Happening This Week

This Thursday’s Troop Meeting is a Court of Honor.

The Merit Badge Weekend at Towson University is this weekend, Sept. 23 – 24.

This event isn’t a Troop sponsored event and won’t be coordinated or staffed by Troop 899 leadership. So the scouts attending will be assigned to a provisional troop and responsible to follow the below participant guide. Scouts and any adult volunteers are responsible to bring copies of their Medical Forms A&B to the event. Below is the link for the merit badge prerequisites for the scouts registered to participate.

FYI, Julie Lefkowitz will be attending as a general volunteer and would love some company.  If any other adults are interested in volunteering, the only BSA training requirement is youth protection. Registration is available on-line.

Christmas Wreath Fundraiser is On!

It’s time to start selling those Christmas wreaths. These high quality wreaths come ready to hang, and last for an amazingly long time. This has been one of our favorite fundraisers over the past years. Keep in mind that a portion of what you sell comes back to the Troop to offset the cost of camping weekends and the equipment that is needed to have a great time. The sale begins 09/21/17 and runs until October 26th. I’ll have the information and order forms at this week’s troop meeting. Check out the attached flyer for further details.

Thanks

Service Day at Broad Creek

WHERE: Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation

WHEN: Sat, 11/16 2013, 9AM–4PM

WHO: Open to Scouters of all ages. You can come as a Unit or individual.

Harford District Scout Leaders and Units:

Each year the Harford District sets aside 1 day so our units (Cub Packs, Scout Troops, Venture Units) or scouts within the units or the Order of the Arrow have the opportunity to perform Service Projects at Broad Creek Scout Reservation.

This year we asked the camp to provide a list so that your group knows of the projects that are available that day. This is an excellent way for many scouts to attain rank advancement by performing service as well as helping our own Boy Scout Camp.

Your group (or individual) can check in at Broad Creek Scout Reservation Headquarters Building starting at 9AM. The time period for projects is from 9AM to 4PM. From there, the Harford District Camp masters will direct you to the Quartermaster Building for your project.

Please let us know that your group (or individual) are planning on attending that day so we can forward your unit information to the Camp Rangers and the Harford District Camp Masters.

If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me. The list of projects is below.
