Winter Cabin Camping Packing List 2016

Troop 899 Tree House Camp Winter Cabin Camping Info. 2016 Winter Cabin Camping Itinerary 2016Join Troop 899 for Winter Cabin Camping at The Treehouse Camp at Maple Tree Campground located in Rohrersville, Maryland near Frederick. We have secured four heated Tree Cottages. A day trip to nearby Historic Harpers Ferry, WV is planned where the Scouts will break into patrols and have an opportunity to explore the town, learn more about it’s unique history and be challenged to complete the photo scavenger hunt (please bring a digital camera or cellphone). Upon arriving at camp on Friday the Scouts will be assigned their cabin and patrol for the weekend. Friday night dinner will be provided at camp, and Saturday lunch will be enjoyed by all in town. Scouts will be patrol camp cooking all other meals. We will depart on Friday, Feb. 26th at 4:00pm from FUMC and return at 12:00pm on Sunday, Feb. 28th at Fallston Library.
The permission slip, detailed itinerary and suggested packing list can be found on the Troop Website. Permission Slips are due no later than Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016. Please contact Jeff Beavers (jdbeavers@comcast.net) with any questions.

What: Work on Emergency Prep and Canoeing on a Muddy Run Reservoir. Also Make sure to bring some extra money for the snack shack and candy for a Saturday night Trick or Trip around the camp ground!!!! Bring a Costume, or take a Hay ride during their Family Fall Fest- 11:30 am to 4 pm

U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center Camping Trip


September 19-21, 2014

The US Army Heritage and Education Center Camp Out will really be a great time and is coming up very quickly. Everyone needs to wear their full uniform because you can get into the Model show for free. So don’t just wear your class A shirt. If everyone has a full uniform please try to bring it so everyone can get into the event for free while showing others Troop 899 Scout Spirit. Please bring your compasses also we will be working on an orienteering course. We are also planning several group sports activities. This will be a great weekend while having fun, learning, and enjoying the fellowship with others. Don’t forget to get the permission slip in as soon as possible. Mr. David Bongiovanni will be at the troop meeting Thursday night to answer any questions you might have. This is also a chance to share with him your group sports activity you would like to play.
